Description
Participants will learn how collaboration with behavioral health providers, government agencies, housing advocates, and community organizations can strengthen the recovery ecosystem. The session will highlight practical outreach strategies, examples of successful partnerships, and tools for overcoming common challenges. Whether you're an established affiliate leader, a recovery advocate, or a stakeholder seeking to improve housing outcomes, this session will offer actionable insights for building the relationships that move recovery forward.
Objectives
Recovery residence operators play a vital role in supporting individuals on their journey to long-term recovery—but no operator does this work alone. The National Alliance for Recovery Residences (NARR) and its state affiliates provide structure, standards, and support—but their full impact depends on strong partnerships and consistent outreach at the local and regional levels.
This session will focus on why and how recovery residence operators can collaborate with NARR affiliates to build a more unified and effective recovery housing system. Participants will explore strategies for strengthening relationships with key stakeholders such as treatment providers, housing agencies, behavioral health systems, and community leaders. Real-world examples will illustrate how outreach and collaboration can lead to better referrals, increased funding opportunities, stronger advocacy efforts, and improved outcomes for residents.
Operators will leave with a clear understanding of how engaging with their NARR affiliate can expand their impact and help elevate the quality and visibility of recovery housing in their community.
