​This keynote will review the new administration’s goals and priorities for SUD services, presented by Senior Policy Advisor to the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy, Tom Hill. Mr. Hill will discuss federal drug policy priorities and how they relate to recovery support services generally and recovery housing in particular. He will also touch on the development 2022 National Drug Control Strategy, noting the important input NARR and other stakeholders have provided to support its development. Additionally, he will touch on the implications of President Biden’s proposed increase in funding for the Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant (SAPT BG) and his proposed requirement that States set aside 10 percent of SAPT BG funding for recovery support services. The address will conclude with a discussion of the role of recovery housing as part of the recovery support services and broader care continua and the potential mechanisms for expanding quality recovery housing.
