Description
This session will review the Trump administration's priorities and strategy for addressing substance use disorder (SUD). It will cover the increased emphasis on supportive permanent housing, which includes recovery housing and the shift away from some harm reduction programs. The session will also cover the potential organizational changes anticipated in HHS regarding the Administration for a Healthy America (AHA).
Objectives
1. Attendees should be able to describe the strategy of the Trump administration, including the shift in emphasis to recovery services to address SUD.
2. Attendees should be able to describe how the administration’s enforcement of antidiscrimination policy impacts diversity, equity, and inclusion programs.
3. Attendees should be able to explain the changes in harm reduction activities for addressing SUD and how that will impact those providing these services to individuals and communities
