Description

For over two decades, Dr. Andre L. Johnson has been a national leader in reimagining recovery not as a moment of change, but as a sustainable ecosystem grounded in equity, dignity, and community connection.  In this powerful keynote, he will explore the evolution of the Recovery Movement, the transformational roll of recovery residences, and how community-based models like the Detroit Recovery Project are shaping behavioral health systems.  Through personal storytelling, national context, and systems-level insight, he will highlight how recovery housing is not just shelter—it’s infrastructure for healing.  He will share how the Recovery Ecosystem model bridges the gap between harm reduction, peer support, workforce development, housing, and clinical care, creating lasting outcomes in urban, suburban, rural, and underserved communities.

Objectives
Attendees will be challenged to reflect on their leadership in the movement and inspired to build recovery ecosystems that are resilient, culturally responsive, and truly unshakable.
