Honesty Liller is a woman in recovery from a substance use disorder since May 27, 2007, and a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist in VA. Honesty is the best-selling author of “Scattered Pink”and is the Chief Executive Officer of The McShin Foundation, a non-profit accredited peer-to-peer Recovery Community Organization (RCO), that serves individuals and families with substance use disorders. Recently, Honesty received a certification as a SHE RECOVERS Professional and is the recipient of the Vernon Johnson Award given by Faces and Voices of Recovery in 2015. Honesty has been featured on “Face The Nation”, FOX News, CNN, and PBS discussing addiction & recovery in America. In addition, she completed Stanford University’s Executive Program for Nonprofit Leaders. In 2019 she was honored with the Jean C. Harris Community Service Board Award from Hanover County. WRIC – Channel 8 News had a feature about Honesty for the “Richmond’s Remarkable Women” special in 2020. She has been a field reviewer for SAMHSA, Faces & Voices of Recovery, and CAPRSS. She is a board member of Hanover CARES. Honesty is able to be a voice for those with addiction and their families through countless news articles, magazine stories, and TV interviews. McShin has opened their first women and children recovery residence and secured a $2 million grant under Honesty’s leadership. To spend time with her husband, two children, and her two dogs is a gift that keeps giving!

In 2019 Gerald Lott saw a need for a more robust recovery community and created Sauk Valley Voices of Recovery, a non-profit RCO (Recovery Community Organization) to advocate for recovering people in Lee, Whiteside, DeKalb and Ogle counties in Illinois. Gerald is a Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist, father, entrepreneur and person in long-term recovery with 16 years of continuous sobriety. He presently spends most of my days looking for new and innovative ways to help build a stronger recovery community in the rural community in which he lives and on the national level. Gerald is a vocal advocate for people in recovery and SVVOR is an extension of that passion providing recovery support, hosting sober-social events, providing a sober-living option for men and hosting a weekly radio podcast called “The Recovery Greenhouse.” This podcast can be streamed on Spotify, Apple Podcasts or the organization's website, svvor.org. SVVOR serves 4 Illinois counties located west of Chicago and has 2 Recovery Centers open to the public. Gerald is a member of the Illinois Statewide Recovery Subcommittee, several other boards and committees and the Illinois Affiliate Director of National Peer Recovery Alliance and the Recovery Community(RCO) Board of Illinois Recovery United Task Force.
