The presentation emphasizes the significance of understanding historical & Intergeneration trauma Indigenous people have faced, the role of spiritual beliefs, and the importance of culturally relevant interventions in addressing mental health and substance use challenges.
Objectives
1. Understanding trauma- paritcipants will be able to identify and articulate the historical and intergenerational trauma faced by Native American communitiies and its impact on mental health and substance use challenges.
2. Cultural integration- attendees will learn to recognize and appreciate the unique tradtional practices and cultural heritage of Native American communities that contribute to holistic healing and recovery.
3. Community resilience- participants will explore the significance of community support systems and culturally relevant interventions in promoting resilience and well-being among Indigenous populations in recovery.
