Description
The currency of all our relationships, professional and personal, is trust. How we navigate trust will in large part determine our success, enjoyment, fulfillment, and reputation. Trust is often one of the first casualties of addictive behavior and breaches in trust are often part of what leads to addictive patterns in the first place. We can see recovery as the process of learning to trust again. In this session, we’ll talk about the dynamics of losing trust and regaining it in the recovery process and how the right recovery residence can be an ideal environment to rebuild this most precious asset.
Objectives
After completing this session, participants will be able to:
1. Discuss the role that the currency of trust plays in human health and relationships.
2. Articulate the ways in which trust building is involved in, and essential to, the SUD recovery process.
3. Reflect on the role of recovery residences in helping residents build trust and describe concrete environmental factors that build trust in the housing environment.
