Dora Dantzler-Wright is a national leader in the recovery oriented systems of care movement. She is founder of Chicago Recovering Communities Coalition, the first Recovery Community Organization in the State of Illinois. Her work is multifaceted. She is an advocate for substance use disorders treatment and recovery. She organizes The Annual Recovery Olympics which utilizes sports to celebrate recovery. Dora prepares individuals with lived experience to become certified recovery support specialists. She also offers recovery support services in African American and other underserved communities and operates a women recovery home.
