As CEO of Dove Recovery House for Women, the largest transitional housing organization in Marion & Dubois County for women recovering from substance use disorder and trauma. Wendy is responsible for overseeing all operations, programming and growth for the organization including clinical, fundraising, program development, staff supervision, advocacy, communications, and marketing.
Wendy has been advocating for women her entire life with the Julian Center, Domestic Violence Network of Indianapolis, Susan G Komen for the Cure and now as the leader of Dove Recovery House for Women. Dove House provides free housing for up to two years, peer recovery case management, trauma therapy, IOP and life skills. Dove House has experienced a 60% capacity increase under Wendy's leadership, in number served annually, and has increased the budget by 500% in 8 years.

Dove House is home to 40 women each night in Indianapolis and recently opened a secondary location in Dubois County, 2 ½ hours south of Indianapolis and is a 15 residential bed facility. They have also launched a capital campaign to relocate the newly opened outreach center, which provides clinical interventions for women on the dove house waitlist, as well as to create 15 new beds in Indianapolis.

Wendy has been awarded the 2006 Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence Empowerment Award through Education, the 2012 Indiana Cancer Consortium Cancer Control Champion Award, and the 2017 University of Indianapolis Community Partner Award. Under her leadership, in 2019, Dove House received the Mental Health of America-Indiana’s inaugural Recovery Residence of the Year Award.
